Her soulful expressions are a testament to the transcendent wisdom imparted by Sajjada Nasheen Hazrat Shah Mohammed Mehdi Niyazi of Khanqah E Niazi, Dargah, Bareily Shareef, and Upacharya Maha Mandaleshwar Swami Kapil Puri Ji Maharaj of Gaukaran Dera. Additionally, she draws profound inspiration from the benevolent blessings of Baba Lakshman Puri Ji Maharaj, whose sagacious spiritual guidance has subtly yet profoundly shaped her artistic trajectory since childhood, imbuing her music with an ineffable essence.
Mentorship and Training : A Legacy Of Excellence
Dr. Jaagriti Lutthra Prraasanna’s musical pedigree is distinguished by her rigorous training under esteemed gharana masters. She received her foundational Raag-dari training from the accomplished Mrs. Ketaki Banerjee of the Kirana Gharana, laying the groundwork for her subsequent explorations in Indian classical music. Her association with Shri. Ritesh Mishra and the legendary Banaras Gharana duo, Padma Bhushan Pt. Rajan and Sajan Mishra, further honed her skills in Indian classical music, imbuing her with the rich traditions of the Banaras Gharana. Additionally, she has had the privilege of studying under the tutelage of Ustaad Sakhawat Hussain, grandson of Padma Bhushan Ustaad Mushtaq Hussain Khan of the Rampur-Sahaswan Gharana, from whom she continues to hone her expertise in the nuances of Sufi music and Ghazal
Gayaki. This diverse lineage has endowed Dr. Jaagriti with a unique musical perspective, allowing her to traverse multiple gharanas and stylistic traditions with ease and authenticity.

Dr. Jagriti’s enchanting vocals were a highlight of Muzaffar Ali’s mesmerizing play, “Ananda – Eyes of the Healer”. This spectacular production, narrated by Kabir Bedi and penned by Nilopher, featured music arranged by Rajesh Prasanna and was staged at Kamani Auditorium. Dr. Jagriti’s soulful rendition of “Fir Mang Fir Mang” added a spiritual dimension to the play. We’re grateful to Muzaffar Ali for contributing the foreword to her book.

Her ensemble, Roohani Sisters, has performed at numerous prestigious stages, including the Dada Saheb Phalke International Film Festival, Wajid Ali Shah Festival, Jahan e Khusrau, Dilli Durbaar, Sahitya Aajtak, Jashne-eAdab, International Sufi and Folk Festivals, (Chittagong Bangladesh), Delhi International Arts Festival, H C L concert series, Kadambari Rangmanch for Women and Child Welfare Program, Lokrang, Peer Parai Jane Re (AROHAN) organised by Sangeet Natak Academy, HSCС Foundation at Bharat Mandapam etc. and also has given interviews for various channels like Doordarshan, NDTV Imagine, Aaj Tak, Pragya, Focus, R TV Bangladesh, Total Bhakti, News18, sanskar etc. Dr. Jagriti’s astute guidance has instilled immense confidence in Roohani Sisters, enabling them to take the stage at the prestigious 26th edition of the Fez Festival of World Sacred Music, Morocco. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the ensemble’s dedication and artistry.
